Dalwhinnie village hall was built in the 1960s, and extensively refurbished in the 1990s

The main hall can hold up to 80 people, and as well as a separate kitchen there’s a separate smaller meeting room that can comfortably accommodate six. There’s off-street parking for up to twelve cars, ramped access and facilities for wheelchair users, and a shower for the use of those who are stating overnight.

The hall has a Public Entertainment Licence.

HIRING THE HALL

The hall can be hired by the day or half-day, and whilst the hire of the hall includes the use of the meeting room and the kitchen the meeting room and kitchen can also be hired separately on an hourly basis.

To hire the hall for a day rate costs £160, a half-day (5 hours) costs £80, and the meeting room and kitchen only can be hired for £25 per hour.

For those wanting to stay overnight, the charge is £10 per person.

If you do decide to hire the hall we’ll send you out a booking form to complete, sign and return, which will ask you for:

  • The name of the hirer, and also the name of any group or organisation they’re acting for
  • Their postal address, email and telephone number
  • The date or dates you’d like to book the hall, including estimated start and finish times
  • The number of people likely to attend

HALL CONDITIONS OF USE

All persons admitted to the hall and its’ facilities are subject to the hall’s conditions of use. Named hirers, leaders of user groups and individual users must ensure that these conditions of use are adhered to.

  • The named hirer must ensure that any necessary licences (e.g. Alcohol or Public Entertainment) are in place prior to any planned event or activity.
  • The named hirer must ensure that all necessary insurances are in place for any planned event or activity. Neither the Trustees nor their representatives will be liable for any loss or damage to any goods, property, equipment, clothing or any other article brought into or stored within the hall or for any personal injury arising directly from any cause out with their control, including damage or injury arising from the misuse of equipment or facilities.
  • All users must ensure that they are familiar with the location of all fire exits and are able to exit the building quickly and safely in the event of a fire. Leaders of user groups must also ensure that their group is appropriately briefed. In the event of a fire or an evacuation of the hall for any reason, the muster area is the hall car park. Fire exits must not be blocked in any way when the hall is in use.
  • All electrical equipment brought into the hall must where necessary be PAT tested and have a valid certificate.
  • Gym equipment is not to be used by anyone under the age of 18, and all users must first have been inducted in the safe use of the equipment by the Trust’s appointed person.
  • Appropriate footwear must be worn for any sport or game being played in the hall.
  • Users must behave in a considerate manner when using the hall, and shall be liable for any loss including damage to property, equipment, furniture and fittings belonging to the hall which in the sole opinion of the Trustees is caused by or arises out of the hire of any part of the hall. Users must also be considerate of neighbours when entering, leaving or using the hall.
  • Users must return all equipment to the proper storage space and leave rooms tidy. All spillages must be cleaned and any damages reported to the Trustees. Extra fittings, decorations or notices must not be erected without the prior permission of the Trustees.
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the hall.
  • User groups must comply with all guidelines and recommendations for the appropriate level of Disclosure/Vetting required for people working with children, the elderly and vulnerable groups.
  • Hires are not transferrable, and the decision of the Trustees in respect of lets, allocations and use of facilities is final.
  • The Trustees reserve the right to apply a cleaning charge of £20 if the hall or meeting room is not left clean and tidy.
