DALWHINNIE VOICES

“Dalwhinnie Voices” is an audio and image library created during the spring, summer and autumn of 2010.

With the support of the Cairngorms National Park Authority a group of villagers worked with an audio producer (Andrea Protheroe), a professional photographer (Andrew Dowsett) and a project manager (Verity Walker) to record as many villagers’ reminiscences as could be gathered, and a “Dalwhinnie Voices” website was created as a home for these recordings.

The website is also home to a growing library of local pictures and reminiscences, and can be found here.

DALWHINNIE – A HAMLET ON THE GREAT NORTH ROAD

“Dalwhinnie Past and Present”, the community group responsible for the Dalwhinnie Voices website that you can find a link to through the “local history” page, have created and published “Dalwhinnie – a Hamlet on the Great North Road”, a high-quality hardcover book of 200 pages that brings together many of the best images of in and around the village, gathered over the years.

Copies of the book are available for £10 plus postage and packing from dalwhinnievillagehall@gmail.com, with all proceeds going to village hall funds.
